Phuket : Thailand 2011

Oh my god. If you haven’t been to Phuket yet it has to be on the top of your list of priorities for 2012. I have just returned after a beautiful two week vacation and let me tell you, it was amazing. I went over there alone to meet up with a girl who I’d met on one of those matchmaker sites and I literally had a blast.
From the beauty and natural wonder of Phi Phi Island to the crazy and exotic nightlife at Patong beach, there is something for everybody. I spent most of my time at The Royal Phuket Yacht Club which is at the Southern most tip of the island. It’s situated on Nai Harn beach far from the hustle and bustle of the City. Most days I would rent a motorbike for 200 baht and travel around the island. Highly recommend doing this to any first timers.

If you are looking for something more sleazy then stay at Patong Beach and check out Bangla Road (see video above). This is where most expats reside and is host to countless go go bars and lady boys. This is not for the faint hearted.
So, if you are planning a trip later this year or next you really should check out Phuket. It’s now on my list of top 10 destinations.
